Welcome to the Albany Unified School District!
Our dedicated teachers, administrators, and staff provide a world-class education for all students, from early childhood through high school. Our mission is to provide excellent public education, empowering all to achieve their fullest potential as productive citizens. As such, we hope to make the enrollment process as quick and convenient as possible.
To enroll, follow the steps outlined below and you'll be on your way to a successful school experience.
Before you start...

Kindergarten Programs:
There are programs set up specifically for new incoming Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten students.
Middle School and High School
Step 1 - Online Enrollment
For students new to the district, AUSD has set up an online data entry process that will help you get started with the enrollment process. You must have a valid address within the Albany Unified School District attendance area to use this system. Verification of residence and immunizations will be required before you complete the enrollment process.

Step 2 - Required Documents
Once you have completed the online data entry process in Step 1, you will need to verify your child's enrollment eligibility. There are several required documents you must have in order to complete the enrollment process.
The following documents are required at the time of enrollment.
Proof of age:
Official or certified copy of birth certificate, passport or certified baptismal certificate
Proof of Immunizations:
Polio – 4 doses (3 doses if 1 was given on or after 4th birthday)
DTP – 5 doses (4 doses if 1 was given on or after 4th birthday)
MMR – 2 doses (both given on or after 1st birthday)
Varicella – 1 dose
Hepatitis B – 3 doses
Additional Information needed:
An academic transcript or report card from your previous school. Prior school records will be requested by the school in which your child enrolls.


For Special Education students: current or most recent IEP and assessments.


For EL (English Learners) students: a copy of current CELDT scores.
The following residency verification documents are required at the time of enrollment.
Parent/Guardian’s Current Government Identification (ID, Driver’s License, or Passport)
A Property Deed (or most recent Property Tax Bill) or a Current Rental Agreement (with the following: parent/guardian name, students name(s), name of owner or manager and telephone number - sub leases will not be accepted)
Any two (2) items listed below with address imprinted (not required for UC Village residents):
•Most recent pay stub
•Voter Registration
•Automobile insurance in combination with automobile registration
•Official letter from a social service/government agency within 45 days
•Bank statement within 45 days
•A utility bill dated within 45 days: PG&E, EBMUD, waste management, residential phone/cable/internet.
•In the instance that utilities are included in the rent, a rental/lease agreement must be used stating that utilities are included.
Step 3 - Registration Verification
Once you have assembled the required documents, you'll need to verify enrollment. This must be done at the district office by appointment only:
