California's Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) provides greater flexibility to Districts to use funds to improve student outcomes. LCFF allocates funding for all students and additional funding for English learners, foster youth, and students identified as socio-economically disadvantaged.
An important component of LCFF is the development of the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP).The LCAP is a planning and accountability tool that highlights the district’s goals, actions and services, and expenditures within a fixed three-year planning cycle. In developing the LCAP, Districts must implement activities to address the following state priorities: basic services; implementation of state standards; parent involvement; pupil achievement; pupil engagement; school climate; and course access; and other pupil outcomes.
Albany Unified School District’s LCAP is aligned with the three goals of the District’s Strategic Plan:
- Assess and Increase Academic Success.
- Support the Whole Child.
- Communicate and Lead Together.
The District annually gathers input from parents, teachers, students and community members to inform the development of the LCAP. In addition to scheduled meetings with stakeholder groups, input is gathered through surveys.
