What I Need (WIN) Time
Elementary Intervention & Acceleration
Multi-Tiered Systems of Support and What I Need (WIN) Time
What I Need (WIN) Time, is daily, protected time for just‑in‑time support and meaningful extension—so every student engages with grade‑level learning and grows.
What is WIN/MTSS time?
WIN (What I Need) is a daily block where every student receives targeted support: intervention, just‑in‑time acceleration, or enrichment—without missing core instruction. WIN operationalizes our Multi‑Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) in literacy and math.
Key features include:
• Time: 30–60 minutes/day (K–5), protected in the master schedule.
• Placement: Universal screeners are used, plus classroom data to determine entry; regrouping occurs every 2–4 weeks.
• Delivery: Classroom teachers, interventionists, specialists, and trained tutors.
At‑a‑glance
• 30–60 minutes of protected WIN time daily
• Bi‑weekly progress checks & flexible regrouping
• 1:1–1:4 tutoring ratios for highest‑need students
• Includes skipping what’s already been learned by the student and going deeper for students who’ve already mastered content
