AUSD Board Appoints New Marin Elementary School Principal, Melisa Pfohl (click for info)

I am pleased to announce that I recommended, to the Board of Education, Melisa Pfohl for the position of Principal at Marin Elementary School.  The Board of Education appointed Melisa Pfohl as the new Marin Elementary School Principal at the July 11, 2017 Board of Education meeting.

 

Melisa Pfohl is a 12 year veteran of the Albany Unified School District, with experience as a teacher at Marin Elementary School, Summer School Principal for AUSD, and most recently, as the Albany High Assistant Principal.  She has been an active participant in the Albany community, including Albany Coming Together (ACT), Curriculum Council, and the Report Card, Writing, and Assessment Committees.  Melisa earned her Bachelor of Science at UC Berkeley, her teaching credential with an emphasis on early childhood development from Mills College, and her Administrative Services Credential from California State University at East Bay.  She is currently enrolled in a school leadership program at UC Berkeley.  During her 20-year career in education, she has established a commitment to issues of social justice and believes passionately in meeting the needs of all students.

 

Ms. Pfohl is honored to serve our community as the next principal of Marin Elementary School and looks forward to working creatively and collaboratively with staff and families to support our students academically, socially, emotionally, and in their growth as human beings. She is very excited to begin working with the Marin Elementary School staff, students, and community.
