Superintendent's Message
Superintendent's Message
Dear AUSD Community,
It is my privilege to serve as Superintendent of Albany Unified School District. Every day, I am inspired by the curiosity, creativity, and resilience of our students, and by the deep commitment of our educators, staff, families, and community partners who support them.
Albany is a place where learning and belonging go hand in hand. We know that when students feel safe, seen, and valued, they can thrive academically and socially. Our mission is to provide an excellent and equitable education for every student, one that prepares them not only for college and career, but also to lead with compassion and purpose in the world they will inherit.
This new website is one way we are working to strengthen transparency, communication, and connection. Here, you will find information about our schools, programs, and initiatives, along with resources for families and opportunities to get involved. Most importantly, I hope it serves as a window into the joy of teaching and learning happening in AUSD every day.
As a leader, I believe in listening deeply, learning alongside our community, and working together to build systems that reflect our shared values of equity, inclusion, and excellence. I invite you to explore this site, celebrate our students’ achievements, and stay engaged in the important work ahead.
Thank you for being an essential part of the AUSD family. Together, we are creating schools where every student can succeed and every voice matters.
With gratitude and partnership,
Sara Stone
