AB 1466 Restraint and Seclusion Data Report

Reporting Years 2023–24 through 2025–26  |  All Students, by Race/Ethnicity and Gender

Legal Background

Assembly Bill 1466, signed into law in October 2023, requires all California LEAs to publicly post restraint and seclusion data, disaggregated by race/ethnicity and gender, for all students. Albany Unified School District publishes this report in compliance, covering every reported use districtwide across the three most recent reporting years.

About This Data

  • Type of intervention: Mechanical Restraint, Physical Restraint, or Seclusion.
  • Students Subjected To: unique students who experienced the intervention at least once.
  • Incidents / Uses Of: total number of times the intervention was used (one student may account for multiple incidents).
  • Setting: Non-NPS (district-operated public school) or NPS (Nonpublic School — a certified private placement for students with disabilities, contracted and funded by the district but not operated by AUSD).
  • Disability status: Section 504 plan, IEP, or neither.

Only categories with a reported count of one or more are listed below; all other race/ethnicity, gender, and disability-status combinations reported zero. Across all three years, every reported case involved a student with an IEP — none involved a 504-only student or a student with neither.
