At Albany Unified School District (AUSD), we want to ensure that all students have access to meals. Therefore, we will be offering a meal pickup option for remote learning students. For planning purposes, at this time we ask that you please fill out this Remote Meal Services Survey to allow our department to get an estimate of how many remote learning families would be interested in the pick-up meal service option. If you do not plan on utilizing this meal service, please go to the survey and select the “I have no interest in the remote meal options.” This information is important to us as well.
Due to a federal rule, we can no longer provide free meals to all children under 18. However, meals are free or reduced price if your child(ren) qualifies. If you are not sure if your child(ren) qualifies for free or reduced price meals, please visit the Albany School Food Project’s Meal Applications page for more information and to submit an application.
You must “verify” or prove your child’s enrollment in AUSD in order to receive meals. All families will receive a letter with a scannable barcode for each student in the household. You will need to bring the barcode each time you pick up food regardless of your child(ren)’s eligibility (Free, Reduced price, or Paid).
The grab and go meals will be available for pick up on Monday and Wednesday from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. Social distancing measures are in effect. Face coverings are required. Children do not need to be present to pick up food.
Reduced price meals are $.40 for lunch and $.30 for breakfast. During remote learning, the full price for all grade levels is $4.00 for lunch and $2.00 for breakfast. This is consistent with last year’s meal prices, and slightly less for high school lunch. If you are paying for meals, you can add money to your account by utilizing MySchoolBucks. Monday’s meal pack will include hot lunch for Monday, a cold lunch meal for Tuesday, and breakfast for Tuesday and Wednesday morning. The full price cost for Monday’s meal pack is $12.00, and the reduced price is $1.40. Wednesday’s meal pack will include hot lunch for Wednesday, cold lunches for Thursday and Friday, and breakfast for Thursday, Friday, and Monday. The full price cost for Wednesday’s meal pack is $18.00, and the reduced price is $2.10. Weekend meals will not be available.
