Albany Asian Pacific Islander Parent Engagement Group (API-PEG)

The AUSD Asian Pacific Islander Parent Engagement Group (API-PEG) invites families to join us to celebrate and promote the interests of API students and families. Our focus will be on advocating on matters that impact the API community, building community and resources, and supporting other groups with shared interests. Albany Athletic Boosters

Albany Disability Squad

Advocates for educational equity and justice for AUSD students with disabilities. Join our Family Support Group the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm via Zoom (Meeting ID: 886 0018 4968, Passcode: 798604) to share trials and tribulations and also celebrate triumphs. Albany Strollers and Rollers (ASR)

The mission of Albany Strollers & Rollers (AS&R) is to promote bicycling and walking as superior forms of transportation, to increase bicycle access, safety, and awareness, and to champion the development of safe routes for bicyclists and pedestrians within Albany. Meetings occur each month alternating between Policy Happy Hours and business meetings. Meeting schedules, contact page, current projects and much more can be found on our website.

Albany's Pride (LGBTQ+)

Albany's Pride is an LGBTQ+ Advocacy group for Albany Unified School District. Our Mission is to ensure that the sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression of every member of our AUSD community is valued, respected, and celebrated. Our Priority is to ensure that our district creates/maintains a positive environment for our LGBTQ+ students and parents. Black Parent Advisory Group (BPAG)

The objectives of the Black Parent Advisory Group are to work to create, foster, and promote:
Equitable access to culturally responsive curriculums;
Innovative educational practices;
Academically rigorous learning environments;
A community that embraces diversity and inclusion.
Our primary focus is on addressing the needs and concerns of African American/Black students and families, however, we are also dedicated to all student, family, and community development with our Albany district.

We are a group of LatinX/Hispanic families who work to:
Ensure the academic success of LatinX students in Albany schools;
Increase parent engagement in our schools;
Advise the District around policies that affect our community and promote cultural awareness;

Jewish Parent Engagement Group

We are a group of self-identified Jewish and interfaith families that will:
Educate the community and be a resource for Jewish history, culture, and religion within AUSD;
Provide mutual support around Jewish identity and anti-Semitism;
Embrace all Jewish identities (e.g. secular, interfaith, Jews of color, LGBTQQIA, and all levels of observance) through celebration and sharing;
Have a collective voice in the current dialog about racism, anti-Semitism, sexism, and any form of bias, hate, or bullying in the Albany public schools;
Stand in solidarity with other parent engagement and community groups to help create an affirming and safe environment for all students and families in Albany.
