This section of the website provides the community with information regarding the activities taking place throughout the District to promote a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment for all students and staff. In response to issues of discrimination and inequity, the Governing Board, District staff, and members of the Albany community have been engaged in dialogue around strategies to ensure respect, inclusion, and empathy for all members of the learning community.

Elementary and High School Staff Members Trip to M.O.T.

More than 50 teachers, instructional assistants, and office staff attended trainings at the Los Angeles based Museum of Tolerance. Participants looked at issues of discrimination and oppression from a historical perspective, as well as present day. Classes covered a robust curriculum with the domains of Identity, Diversity, Justice, and Action. Each domain have five CCSS aligned standards that spanned a k-12 continuum. We will continue to have conversations as to how this can be implemented into our classrooms. It was a meaningful and powerful training for all who attended.
