District Committees

AUSD has a number of committees and task forces that seek stakeholder input. Many committees have specific compositions with members who have identifying characteristics, expertise, and/or affiliations. Most committees are governed by the Brown Act and their members must be appointed by the Board of Education, and vacancies must be advertised in compliance with the Maddy Act.

Up-to-date vacancy information is posted below and is noticed in District and school communications. If you are interested in applying for a vacancy, please fill out this online application form. Most terms (except in the case of student members) are for two years, and reliable attendance and participation is required.

Information on each Committee's purpose and composition is available at the links below. Meetings of committees governed by the Brown Act are open to the public, and the public may comment on agenda items. Agendas, minutes, and other materials are available in the public folders on each committee page.
