More than 90% of AUSD families successfully fulfilled the re-registration requirement using the online appointment scheduler that offered both day and evening appointments. AUSD’s efforts to inform parents of the requirement and the deadline through mailings, auto-dialers, and postings on the district website really paid off. Albany Patch also helped out by posting a reminder in the middle of August – we also thank them for their assistance.
On Wed., 8/23 and Thurs., 8/24, AUSD shifted resources and heavily staffed the District Office to re-register the remaining families who were notified of the extended 10-day grace period. We thank those families for their patience – especially when the power went out. AUSD staff resourcefully used digital cameras, in place of the copy machine, to capture required data ensuring that every parent in line was served.
