Albany Unified School District is currently conducting a search for a new superintendent through the search firm Ray and Associates an executive search firm hired to assist the district in recruiting a replacement for retiring Superintendent Marla Stephenson. The Board of Education is committed to a transparent search process and intends to involve students, staff, community members, and local business and community leaders in the search process in the following ways:

January 21-22, 2014 (invitations with locations & times have been sent to stakeholder groups)
The Board of Education is sponsoring a series of public forums conducted by the contracted search firm, Ray & Associates to gather input on desired characteristics the new superintendent should possess. The Board welcomes and encourages all constituents and stakeholders: staff, students, parents, community members, etc. to participate in the public forums. Invitations andpublic announcements with the locations and times of these public forums were distributed.
