AUSD Parents, Students & Staff:

An attempted kidnapping took place Saturday night in Albany at about 11:10 p.m.  A man tried to physically force a teenage girl into a parked white pickup truck. The teenage girl resisted and left the area immediately. The suspect is described as a Hispanic man about 40 to 45 years old, medium build, about 5 feet 8 inches tall with short dark hair and stubble on his face.

Similar incidents occurred in Albany and Berkeley in September, so please remind students that if they are approached by a stranger to let you, their teacher, or principal know immediately.

Take time to discuss with students, in an age appropriate manner, what to do if a stranger approaches them.  Below are links to helpful safety resources.
