Career Technical Education: AHS Design + Build

Albany High School students in the Design + Build are given various projects and then need to design and build them, and AHS physics teachers Valerie Risk and CAD teacher Jeff Castle oversee the program. Ms. Risk and Mr. Castle offer feedback on product design. Students have been participating in several work-based learning opportunities including customized benches made at Laney College and metal work at the Crucible.

The AHS Design + Build program was featured in an article written by Damin Esper Correspondent for the Bay Area News Group.  The article  Albany program brings traditional school wood shop into 21st century recently ran in the East Bay Times.  A Career Technical Education staff report will be provided at the 3/28/17 Board of Education meeting.
