June 13, 2017

AUSD Staff, Parents, Students, & Community,

I am pleased to announce that I recommended, to the Board of Education, Mrs. Alexia Ritchie for the position of Principal at Albany High School.  The Board of Education appointed Mrs. Ritchie as the new Albany High School Principal at the June 13, 2017 Board of Education meeting.

Alexia Ritchie is a 25 year veteran of the Albany Unified School District with experience as a teacher and administrator for both elementary and secondary schools. Her work in the community includes principalships at MacGregor High School, Albany Adult School, and most recently at Marin Elementary School.

Mrs. Ritchie is honored to serve our community as the next principal of Albany High School and looks forward to collaborating with staff and families in her new role.   She is very excited to begin working with the Albany High School staff, students, and community. Introductions and “meet and greet” opportunities for the Albany High School community will be coordinated and announced soon.

Please join me in welcoming Alexia Ritchie to the Albany High School family.

Valerie Williams, Superintendent
