AMS Wins a Blue Ribbon Award!

Albany Middle School has received a 2017 National Blue Ribbon School Award! The recognition is based on a school's overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. We were one of two middle schools in California and the only public middle school in California to win this award.

This award is a testament to all the hard working staff of Albany Middle School - teachers, custodians, counselors, paraprofessionals, office staff, service providers, food service workers, librarians, mental health interns, and TSAs. They all work tirelessly on behalf of our students. It is also a testament to our amazing community - families who go the extra mile for supporting their students, raising amazing human beings, and contributing to the school as a whole. But perhaps most importantly, this award is a testament to our students. We have a diverse and engaged student population. Our students genuinely care about the world they live in, and I am in awe of them every day. It gives me hope for our world to know this group of young people. Congratulations to all of the partners - students, families, staff, and community - who make Albany Middle School what it is!
