Albany Children's Center Receives 5-Star Rating!

Our Albany Children’s Center (ACC) received a 5-Star rating from the Quality Rating Improvement System (QRIS) which is conducted by Quality Counts. Quality Counts rates, supports, and rewards early care and education programs in Alameda County.  Quality Counts also helps early care and education providers improve their programs so that children are prepared for kindergarten and success in school and life.

California’s QRIS rates programs on several quality elements. These include child observation, developmental and health screenings, qualifications for lead teacher and director, teacher-child interactions, program environment, and group size and ratio. Programs receive a Tier rating of 1-5 (1-5 stars), with Tiers 4 and 5 indicating a High Quality Program.

Previously, ACC received a 4-star rating with a score of 27, out of a possible 35.  ACC was re-evaluated in 20182018 which brought them up to a 5-star rating with a score of 34.  This is a huge accomplishment and a testament to the hard work and dedication of all the staff members at Albany Children’s Center. It is important to note that this 5-star rating is difficult to earn and is rarely given out to preschool programs.  In fact, Albany Children’s Center joins a very small number of 5-star preschools in Alameda County.

Congratulations to Anna Mansker and her outstanding ACC team!
