At the January 22nd Board of Education meeting, the Board decided to move to an AM/PM Kindergarten program for the 2019-2020 school year. In an AM/PM Kindergarten program, a student attends Kindergarten either in the morning or the afternoon. District and School Site leadership are working on the details.
Kindergarten programs will be at Cornell and Marin Elementary Schools, and the Transitional Kindergarten (TK) program will be the Albany Children’s Center. TK will also be on an AM/PM schedule.
Kindergarten students will start their year at either Marin or Cornell in August 2019. The District will provide updated information throughout the coming months on the district website at www.ausdk12.org. To aid in transition, the District will be providing information on before- and after-care programs and community resources available to families.
There will be a Transitional Kindergarten & Kindergarten Orientation Night on January 29th at Ocean View Elementary School from 6:30 - 8:00 pm.
If you know a family with young children, please share this information with them and encourage them to come to the Orientation Night. Any family that is potentially interested in Albany TK or Kindergarten is encouraged to visit the District website at www.ausdk12.org and click on “Enrollment” at the top of the home page.
