hi my name is Val Williamson on the superintendent for the Albany Unified School District over the past year we have been showcasing and spotlighting for the board and for the pub all of our amazing schools and what they do to help our students become very very successful this month we are showcasing our district office staff hi my name is Peter parenti and the director of curriculum and instruction the primarily support student learning by supporting my principles and teachers on special assignment we're in a really wonderful time of change in California and across the country where we're implementing new standards English Math Science and History along with that comes a lot of hard work and a lot of opportunities to collaborate together so I work with teachers on special assignment to plant professionals online opportunities to selective textbooks on to make sure that budgets are aligned to the expenditures that come with those kinds of projects and to make sure that principles and have everything they need hello Marsha Brown director student services at Linda Williams student services coordinator and Britt Merritt the district nurse all students and maintain our student information system I support our School site staff secretaries when they have questions regarding Student Records policies and California Ed code district nurse I coordinate and conduct vision and hearing screening I also write healthcare plans for students with Sonic illnesses as part of these health care plans I trained teachers in the care of students while they're at school I'm responsible for coordinating on mental health program which serves to throughout the district we manage state and federal categorical programs which provide targeted support to identified student groups by my name is Alan Gardner Chief business cancel I oversee a number of departments are Child Nutrition department provides nutritious meals everyday or technology department provides alternative teaching methods by access to equipment and reliable internet our maintenance and operations and sure is that we have clean and safe learning spaces our payroll make sure that we provide accurate paychecks on time purchasing and sure that we provide competitive pricing on all the supplies and services and a timely manner and then budgeting we have a stable and reliable budget in order to provide consistent Services over the years the Director of Human Resources Marina Gonzalez human resources technician height reach and benefits of men who support all of our stuff by interpret applying federal state and local regulations for policies and the collective bargaining agreements to ensure that our staff is treated fairly when employees feel like they're being taken care of they can use their energies to support her students I'm Diane Marie and I'm the director of special education at Albany with me are six members of the Special Education team here at the district office that I'm back Tyler program specialist program specialist in the district or two supports to staff and parents in navigating special education program and technology specialist district-wide students Phillies that use assistive technology devices check to the capacity with behavioral strategies and support students to reduce problem behavior and increase positive replace the skin and I manage the special education office in addition I assist parents and students when they call her office with questions or concerns can I am the transportation coordinator the best part of my job is transporting kids all over the Bay Area Communications manager I advised the superintendent and staff on developing and disseminating messages I also have the awesome opportunity to assist the board and showcasing the great work that's being done throughout the district on behalf of the entire Albany Unified School District I want to thank all of our ministrator Czar teachers are support staff are custodians everyone who helps make our students be very successful I am very proud to be your superintendent send and I also want to thank the community and all the organizations for your hard work your dedication and your passion to making sure that our students are the very best and and are prepared for college for the world of work and to be a 21st century Learners thank you
