The criteria used to make kindergarten assignments included:
• Date of registration (the earlier the registration, the better chance of receiving first
choice of both school and early bird/late bird);
• Special education placement/needs; and
• Sibling(s) already attending the requested school.
Both Marin and Cornell had more first choice requests than the school had capacity. Late registering students for those two schools were moved to Ocean View, but given their first choice for early bird/late bird.
