Albany High School Aquatics Center Project Update 10-18-11

Albany High School Aquatic Center Project Update
Tuesday, October 18, 2011

Albany High School students, staff and community members are very eager for the Albany High School Aquatics Center to open. With the completion of the phenomenal Gen 7 modular classrooms, the anticipation for the state–of- the-art Aquatics Center is visible in the community. I have seen a community that is enthusiastic, supportive and devoted to its children and programs. It is clear to me that the Albany Pool has traditionally been one of the most beloved gathering spots for the community. I assure you that the new facility and programs will exceed your expectations and create a lasting legacy. I am so excited to be part of this endeavor.

As the Aquatics Director, I visit the construction site on a daily basis. The crew is organized and working consistently. Construction is moving is moving forward swimmingly, however, with any new construction setbacks may occur. It is most important to remember our goal is a safe and staffed facility that offers programs the entire community can enjoy. I can assure you that I see a project team that is truly dedicated to building this facility and understands its importance to the school and community. I truly believe the Albany High School Aquatics Center will exceed expectations and be the finest pool in the area. It is in our best interest to continue to remain supportive and cooperative.

Presently, I am interviewing staff and preparing programs so that our facility is fully functional when the doors open fully showcasing the exciting new amenity for AUSD students and the Albany community.
